Max spent early life in a west Dallas junkyard. He lived his days outside, laying in the dirt or the mud while his owner worked, with never a bed to call his own. A woman worked near-by spotted him and became concerned for his welfare - the junkyard is on a major street and Max was often seen dodging traffic. She met his owner and began conversations that led to the owner allowing Max to be vetted and neutered (at her expense). After his surgery, the owner asked the woman if she could find Max a good home. Flash forward to today.
Max is a sweet boy who loves to be near his person. As long his person is nearby, life is good! He plays well with other dogs. While he is nice to the cat, he is still learning about them and has a tendency to chase. He ADORES children.
Max's ideal home would be one with kids and owners that will let him sleep in their bed. Being young (only 18 months in July), he is active and looks forward to daily walks and car rides. He is working through separation anxiety, so an owner that is home often or works from home would be best for him. He is terrified of thunder so he needs extra comfort during storms. Getting a new toy is the highlight of his sweet boy’s day. Max is a delightful dog and anyone that adopts him will be so lucky to have such a sweet boy.
If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!
The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Max is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
