We have a story to tell about a homeless stray dog named Charley who found herself in danger of being euthanized at a kill shelter. Fortunately, the kill shelter had a compassionate and hard-working manager who reached out to us to help Charley. He said she was a great dog who just needed a break. Luckily, we were able to give her that break and and as soon as we met Charley, we knew what a great dog she is! She is a beautiful Boxer/Pitbull Mix looking for her forever home. She is a gal who is smart, athletic and friendly all in one 60 -pound package. Just look at the sweet and kind face Charley shows in her photo. They say photos do some no justice, and with 1-year-old Charlie we agree- if you think she's a beauty here, just wait until you meet her in person. Our affectionate gal is pals with her high energy furry foster sibling and enjoys the company of most dogs and cats. If you like fishing, then you've got your paw-mate with Charley. She loves to fish and anxiously awaits to see what you're reeling in! Charley loves attention and will do almost anything for a treat! She even stays off of her foster mom's furniture, enjoys leash walks and is almost house trained. Charley is submissive and shares her toys well. She enjoys chewing on antlers, Kong balls and Nylabones. Charley has been an amazing guest in her foster home, getting socialized and enjoying all the friends, both humane and canine, of her foster sibling. Her foster mom brags about Charley to anyone who will listen. Charley is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Our chummy and friendly gal could be your forever companion if you submit an approved at ITVRescue.org. Charley is anxious to start her happily ever after with you NOW - hope to see you soon!

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
