Here's what the humans have to say about me:
True to his namesake, Rufio is truly a "lost boy". An owner surrender to the shelter because he couldn't handle strangers coming into the house, Rufio has a hard time accepting people he doesn't know. Once he knows and trusts you he is a very playful and affectionate dog; but it takes time and patience to gain his trust. Rufio would do best in home without children and with someone who is experienced with this breed and the trust issues they often have. He is good with other dogs that don't threaten him or get in his face and lives peacefully with the resident cat. Rufio is crate-trained, walks well on a leash and loves to fetch an play with toys. He would do well in agility or flyball...something to engage his mind and body as well as build confidence. Ruffio is approximately 2 years old, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.
