United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the CARSON Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below.
Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.

A4954529 Sofie is a lovely 3-year-old gray-and-white female Pit Bull mix was adopted from the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in July, 2016, and abandoned at the Carson Animal Care Center on March 3, 2017, for no known reason. Weighing 71 lbs, Sofie has an agreeable, happy disposition. She won the hearts of our volunteers thanks to her constantly wagging tail, and she loves to sit directly beside her new friends. Sofie earned a perfect score on her shelter-administered temperament test and gets along swimmingly with other dogs. In fact, she is one of the most popular girls in the Carson shelter's doggy playgroups. She already walks respectably on leash and seems to be housebroken. Indescribably charming and smiley, this happy girl is impossible not to fall in love with. Sofie will be an incredible and responsive indoor pet and best friend in any home where she will be a central part of family life, and she will be a great choice for the first-time adopter of a larger or “bully breed” dog.
