Hello everyone, they call me Dexter! I'm a southern gentleman and my foster mom tells me the best pups come from Texas.
About me: I get along fine with the smaller pups my foster mom has but I was a little hesitant with the bigger pup. We are good buddies now but it took me a little bit to see that the big dogs are even more fun than the little ones. She's a great teacher and loves to play with me which I do now enjoy. I'm pretty good on a leash and I love walks. I'm learning the basics like sit and got help from my puppy friends but I do like to sit on the carpet verses the wood floors. I like meeting new people and puppy friends while out and I love the fenced in backyard. I'm very good in the house and sleep in the bedroom with my friends and foster mom. I do not need to be kenneled but I can be and I'm fine with that. I am on what my foster mom calls a diet and I have lost weight so keeping up with that is also recommended. I'm pretty touchy with my feet, legs and tail so I probably won't be good with small children but older respectful kids that understand these are my sensitive areas I should be fine with. I do like to cuddle but I'm also totally happy to lay by your feet. I do not sleep in bed as I prefer to sleep on the puppy bed my foster mom has on the floor right next to her. If I sound like the Man you would enjoy sharing your home with, give me shout and let my foster mom tell you more about me. I promise I will love you forever!!!
Foster Mom here, little Dexter or Dex as I call him is a happy go lucky little man. He was a little shy at first but came around quickly and built trust with me. He is very funny. Plays all by himself and loves toys. He loves puppy beds and is occasionally in the couch but he does prefer the floor. He will snuggle but does not have to get attention all the time. He will follow you wherever you go just to see if maybe food might be involved. Lol... One reason he is on a diet. His coloring is beautiful and I'm thinking he might be a Boston terrier beagle cross but he's not a loud barker. He barks when someone is at the door or coming in and that's about it. He's a very sweet boy and needs a leader. He is ok with men and women but some men I have seen he does not like and will bark at them. Not aggressive in any way but more scared. We are working on that and he is getting better. He does however prefer women to men. He does seem to have allergies so giving him a Benadryl twice a day really helps him and he's not so itchy. I'm sure I missed some things about him so please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks so much!
