Nitro, despite his unfortunate start to life, is a very happy and friendly dog. Nitro is a 1 1/2 year old Shepherd mix who is housetrained, crate-trained and is good with dogs and cats. Nitro walks/runs very well on the leash and only pulls slightly when there is another dog he wants to meet or if he spots a squirrel, but can be easily redirected away from it. He enjoys the exercise but is also content to lay around the house if that is what you are doing. He is shy when first meeting people but quickly warms up and loves to be around everyone. He is good with kids but does cower (with no aggression) when approached quickly, but when given a minute sniff to he is eager to be their friend! We believe he would do well in any kind of household, with or without children or pets. Nitro does whine and bark when initially left alone but does settle down and has gotten better since we've had him and will only continue to progress. He loves peanut butter, snuggling really close to you, giving kisses, chewing on bones and going for walks! Nitro's tail is always wagging and is a very loving and happy dog and is ready to find a permanent home to call his own. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.
