Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yes. You are seeing correctly! This is an AKC Yorkshire Terrier named “PEANUT”. Isn’t he cute?? He was raised and loved at the home of the same BYB that Little Man came from.
Before Peanut was retired, this little 8 year old (born 12/05/2008), Yorki was used to produce “Yorkipoos” as he refused to breed any female Yorkies! What a smart little 9 pound Poodle. Oh wait… I mean a Yorkie!!
Peanut is certainly an EXTREMELY NICE Yorkie! He has to be, otherwise he would not be with us! I have found him to be very loving, quiet and gentle.
He wants to be with people and will push the Poodles off my lap so he can sit in it! He doesn’t consider himself a dog, but a member of a family!
Here is an example of a Poodle-wanna-be as he is also sociable, outgoing, loves to be held and wants to be with people. He tolerates our Poodles, but like a Terrier, he prefers being an ONLY dog.
IN BRIEF:
Peanut is a very sweet, sensitive, soft Yorkie who needs a quiet and loving home.
He has kept his kennel clean and is just fine in our home, but we do keep an eye on him.
He LOVES to sit in a lap, but he will not share the lap with anyone other dogs. He needs to be an only dog.
A fenced yard is required as he will not relieve himself while on a leash.
Please no young children or other dogs.
Peanut was neutered, heartworm tested negative, wormed, Home Again micro chipped and his shots are up to date. Recently, a second surgery was done to remove just a few of his teeth as they were rotting and infected. His mouth has healed and he is doing just fine eating and being a part of our family.
Yes. It’s true. Before we were involved with Poodles, we did breed and show Yorkshire Terriers! While I did enjoy the breed, they did have their faults. So we changed and become more involved with breeding, showing and trying to preserve the Toy Poodle breed.
A beautiful tricolor, silky hair (not fur) and also “bull legged” rounds out this boy’s appearance. You can be sure you will receive a lot of attention when you are with him.
We have started working a leash with him. But as pictured, he hates the leash as he’s never had the need for one. We’ve even tried a harness, which isn’t going much better.
His $350.00 adoption fee includes the $24.00 Minnesota state sales tax, his kennel, a new blanket, a bag of dog food, dog treats, doggie bed, toys, his leash, collar, a dog coat and also helps pay for some of his expensive Vet work.
