My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Melvin is the most adorable papillon mix. He is just the sweetest dog, a little timid and shy until he gets to know you and then he is your best friend and just wants to sit on your lap and get lots of love and attention. He is approx 2 yrs old and 11 lbs. He does well on a leash and seems to be pretty well house trained. He is a quiet dog with a sweet disposition and we would prefer a home for him with older family members.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
