Melvin's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Melvin's Story...
Melvin is the most adorable papillon mix. He is just the sweetest dog, a little timid and shy until he gets to know you and then he is your best friend and just wants to sit on your lap and get lots of love and attention. He is approx 2 yrs old and 11 lbs. He does well on a leash and seems to be pretty well house trained. He is a quiet dog with a sweet disposition and we would prefer a home for him with older family members.

The total adoption fee of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melvin, a Norwalk Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon for sale in Norwalk, or seeking a Papillon dog from a breeder in Norwalk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norwalk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norwalk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon breeders who help with Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Norwalk paves the way for another one to be saved.
