My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BAILEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Meet Bailey a beautiful and unique female Sheepdog mix! Bailey is around 3-5 years old and is an Old English Sheepdog mix. She was found as a stray in Kentucky, so we don't know what her exact mix is, but we think she may have some Giant Schnauzer in her as well. She has the whimsical look of a Sheedog, but her coat will not require nearly the same amount of work to maintain that would come along with having a purebred OES. Bailey loves people and enjoys being near the ones she loves all the time. She loves to play and has a very silly and boisterous personality. Bailey is a larger girl, around 60 pounds or so and it does not appear that she has had any formal training prior to coming to our rescue, so obedience school would be a good idea for her. She's very exuberant when meeting new friends and just needs to work on her manners a bit! She is quiet in the home and is crate trained. She does very well with her house breaking when kept on a regular schedule. Bailey is currently being housed with other dogs and does ok after an introductory period, but she is an alpha female. She would do best in a home with a larger submissive male or as the only dog. We will not place her in a home with another female dog. Bailey is spayed and vaccinated. She also recently had a mass removed on her hind leg, but a biopsy concluded it was a low-grade mass and that her surgery was considered curative. Unfortunately, she has also tested positive for heartworm and has begun her treatment. She needs two more follow up appointments over the next few months with our partner clinic in North Aurora. She can go to her forever home before treatment is completed as long as the adopters are willing to bring her to our clinic for her follow up appointments. Bailey is currently in a foster home and can be seen by appointment once an application has been completed and approved. For more information or for an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com Bailey's adoption donation to the rescue is $275.

• Bailey's adoption donation is $275. This donation helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, initial worming, and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Bailey from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes the applications end up in there!
