Hi there! I'm Marley and this is me looking for my family. I am really unhappy here in a kennel. The staff at the shelter take really good care of me, but I am supposed to be somebody's baby and stay with them all day. My purpose in life is to keep someone's lap warm and give them lots of love and kisses! But instead for right now I have to live in a kennel, which is not soft and warm, no matter how many soft, warm blankets the staff puts down for me there.

My pictures don't even begin to do me justice. You see, I'm cute as a button! I'm soft and silky and I don't shed much because I'm a poodle mix. I just have to be brushed regularly or taken to the groomer for trims!

I'm about 5 years young and I have many, many years ahead of me for loving someone unconditionally and providing companionship, comfort and warm snuggles. If you're in need of any of those things, please come see me at the Humane Society and take me home with you!

About Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark

About Our Shelter...

At the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark we are passionate about ensuring the protection and welfare of all animals in need. This is the legacy of our founder Robert Kleinstuber, who began the shelter in 1959 as a memorial to his beloved dog, Jeff.

Our mission is to protect and serve animals during their greatest time of need, assist our community pets and their people, and offer homeless pets a second chance at a first-rate life. By providing humane education along with free or low-cost resources, we hope to reduce the homeless pet population in our area.

We currently provide animal control impound services for 10 municipalities in Orange & Sullivan Counties and are proud to provide low-cost spay/neuter clinics, adoption and re-homing services, humane education, and community assistance to the tri-state area.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open to the public Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm, Thursday and Friday from 11 am - 7 pm. We are closed to the public on Monday and Tuesday.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all of our adopters to go through an application process that generally takes about 48 hours to complete. Veterinary references and homeowner/landlord information is requested. If there are other pets in the home, we recommend a meet and greet to assess compatibility. In home visits may be conducted in some situations. Adoption fees vary based on the animals.
