My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLUTO was named for his big, adorable ears! He would love to hear the words, "Pluto, you are adopted!" Pluto was found along a highway by a nurse who was on her way to work. He was very thin and weak and looked like he had been a stray, on his own for a while. The nurse took him to a local vet where he ate a huge meal and curled up in a ball and went to sleep, probably his first good, safe sleep in a long time. He was posted on lost and found sites and with the local sheriff's office, but nobody claimed him, so sweet Pluto must now find a forever home. He is a 4 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who weighs 53 pounds, with some more weight gain possible. He has been neutered and vaccinated and will be microchipped prior to adoption. He tested positive for heartworm but he is almost finished with the treatment that will rid him of heartworm. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Pluto if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received.
