Webster's Story...
Webster is a goofy 3 year old pointer mix that brings a smile to everyone’s face. Webster was adopted from the shelter as a puppy, but unfortunately his owner’s job was transferred to Georgia and they could not find a place that would take a dog his size. He is loving, playful, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Webster would make a great addition to just about any home.
Please call the shelter (516-944-8220) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about Webster, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.org for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Webster, a Port Washington Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in Port Washington, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in Port Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
