Penny's Story...
Penny is an adorable mixed breed dog, just three months old and weighing almost 7 pounds.  She will stay on the smaller size when fully grown.  Penny loves playing with other dogs regardless of their age or size.  She especially loves her toys and chasing anything that moves!  Penny is a bit afraid of cats, however, but with the proper introduction we think she could be okay with them.  She has a low/medium energy level so doesn’t require an extensive amount of exercise.  Penny would be great for a family with children over 5 years of age.  She was rescued by our sister organization in Mexico where she was spayed, dewormed and vaccinated.  Penny is available for adoption in the Vancouver/Victoria, BC area.  If you think this little girl sounds like the dog for you, contact us at info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Nanaimo Mixed Breed (Small) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Small) for sale in Nanaimo, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Small) puppy from a breeder in Nanaimo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nanaimo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nanaimo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Small) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nanaimo paves the way for another one to be saved.
