Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ozzy is an 8 year old, happy go-lucky, 110 lb boy! We believe that he is a Shepherd/Lab/Mastiff mix. He loves people, and will roll over for a belly rub when you first walk into the house. He is great around children as well and is very tolerant. He is the kind of dog that wants to be where his people are, and will follow you wherever you go. He will never turn down a snuggle or the opportunity to cuddle with you on the couch.
Ozzy loves exercise, like all dogs, and enjoys a good 30 minute walk daily. He also loves the opportunity a couple times each week to really run around and stretch his legs. A yard is definitely required for this big boy!
Ozzy is very responsive to training, and knows: sit, down, stay, shake a paw and come. He is usually very good when you call him to come, and will come bounding over.
He does have some territorial and dominance issues, however, and needs to be in a home with someone is experienced with large, powerful breed dogs. Like stated above, he is quite responsive, but he does need his owner to be the leader. If he is senses that his owner has a weaker energy than him, he will take over and this is when some territorial issues arise.
Ozzy needs to be the only dog in the house. He enjoys meeting dogs on walks, but he doesn't like sharing his home turf with another dog. He also has a strong prey drive and shouldn't stay in the same house as cats.
Ozzy is a lovely boy, and one of the sweetest you will ever meet. He always has a smile on his face and just loves life. With an experienced owner, he will do very well and will really thrive.
Ozzy is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Animal Rescue. The adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Please fill out our Adoption Form if you are interested.
