Sweet little Max and his brother Lucas came to TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County. These adorable nuggets are 10 weeks old as of late June 2017, and currently weigh in at a petite 2.5 pounds. We believe they are chihuahua-terrier mixes and will be fairly diminutive when they are full grown, in the 10 to 15 pound range. Max and Lucas are typical puppies, playful and naturally affectionate with each other and their humans. They have taken to being crated and are learning about house training and other basic manners. If you are looking for a smart and sweet puppy to train up from the very beginning, Max might be your guy! If you would like to meet Max or his brother Lucas, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.http://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

About The Rescued Dog

About Our Rescue Group...

The founders of The Rescued Dog forged our bond during our volunteer work together at a local dog rescue. We recognized in each other a mutual respect for our human friends and the dogs we were helping to rescue. When the time came to start our own rescue, our collective mission was clear: save at-risk dogs from high-kill shelters and place them in loving, forever homes for the benefit of the dogs and humans alike. We believe the best way to end pet overpopulation and animal cruelty is a unified front with local shelters, other rescue groups and the community.
While The Rescued Dog is currently a foster-based rescue, our long-term goal is to have a kennel and training facility, which will enable us to increase our number of rescues and take time to train and, if needed, rehabilitate dogs in need.
The founders of The Rescued Dog are committed to saving the right dogs for the right people, and offering support and education to ensure a successful forever situation for both our dogs and the humans who adopt them.
Thank you for your support!
