Angus's Story...
Hi there, my name is Angus! I was surrendered to the shelter with my buddy Malcolm due to allergies (our owners not ours!). No worries! I'm a calm, cool, collected fellow and I know that with my charming purrsonality and dashing good looks (I mean come on, just look at my face!) that I will find a brand new family soon that will love me the rest of my life! It would be great if I could go home with Malcolm but we talked and would be okay going to separate families as long as we get the purrsonal attention we have been craving! Think I could be the new man in your life? Come by the shelter and meet me today! Please note: adjusted adoption hours will begin on Saturday, June 4th. Please visit for more details or call 630-407-2800.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Angus, a Wheaton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wheaton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wheaton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wheaton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wheaton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wheaton paves the way for another one to be saved.
