Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dax initially came to our rescue in late March from the Dunn County Humane Society. He had been abandoned in a field by his original owner.
Dax was adopted in April 2017, but his adopted home was not a good fit so he is again available for adoption.
Because of some reported behavior concerns, Dax was evaluated by a certified behavior consultant. He will need a herding-breed experienced home that is familiar with strong herding traits and be willing to continue with training. Dax was under socialized and can become excited and overstimulated. This is already greatly improving with training and redirection. I believe he will do best in an adult home. He does well with the female dogs in my home but there is some posturing with my males.
Dax will not be available until June 30th and I am continuing to work with him on appropriate dog and human introductions. In the next week I will expose him to children and other people and dogs in a variety of situations and locations and will continue training until he is adopted.
Dax is a little rough around the edges but definitely worth some effort. He is extremely smart, handsome, very affectionate and responsive to consistent training and reinforcement.
