Rescue Story:
My current owners love me, but they can't afford to keep me.

I've lived in a few different homes, some better than others, but that doesn't change how much I LOVE people. I'm a big lazy dog and lounging around with a loving family sounds like the perfect future to me. #ilovepeople #bestfriendsforever
About my Behaviour:
I am an extra large boy who should live in a house with no other pets (fish and other tank animals are fine). I have met hundreds of other dogs and there were only 3 that I met that I liked and wanted to play with. It's best to keep our distance from other dogs on walks because I sometimes get worked up if I am near them.
I've had a tough upbringing and developed a possessive personality through no fault of my own. I am very possessive with food, and I might consider my owners a possession. One-on-one professional training is a MUST. I am scared of vacuum cleaners and sudden loud noises, but otherwise I am very confident.
I love people. I'm a unique dog because of my size and appearance which helps me make human friends wherever I go. I love being pet behind the ears, and will always make myself at home wherever I am. Because I'm such a big boy I don’t like sleeping on the floors, so I enjoy cuddling in bed with you. I'm a sous chef in the kitchen and if you drop anything I'll be happy to clean it up for you.
I'm happy to be outside, but sometimes I’ll miss having you around, and will want to come back in. People are my main source of entertainment, so a good hour per day of socialization would be great for me. I don't really care for toys. Sometimes I’ll play with them, but only if someone is around to spark my excitement. Sometimes on walks during the summer I’ll start rolling around in the grass, and immediately jump up and be ready to play.
(I might try to grab your arm playfully so be careful.) In the summer I love drinking from lakes and big puddles, and in the winter I love eating the snow.
I am house trained and have never had an accident. I've only ever destroyed a hair bush and a few pencils so I'm generally pretty trustworthy when left alone. I tend to like chewing on objects of that shape (pens, pencils, etc.). I've lived with my current family for a year and they don't think I am crate trained.
How’s my Health?
Rear left TCL surgery is recommended. It’s not necessary, but to cure my small limp it requires surgery. I currently take glucosamine to help my joints and to help with the limp. Otherwise, I've always been fantastically healthy, especially my teeth.
I am neutered and will be vaccinated prior to adoption.
