Tidbit's Story...

TIDBIT is extra cute, and has extra toes to prove it. He is playful and full of life, plus confident and curious. He would make a wonderful family kitty and is affectionate and sweet. We really don't know how he hasn't been snapped up by an adopter, but we hope he finds a wonderful forever home soon, maybe with you!  TIDBIT is also used to dogs who his foster has, and he was born into our care when his very pregnant and stray mom, literally walked up to us and signed herself up for our maternity wing :)

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation. On average, we spend about $125 to prepare a cat or kitten for adoption, which includes testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, vet care, medicine and spay/neuter (if old enough). We set a minimum donation at $50 and just ask adopters to cover more of the $125 if can afford it. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more of our cats. It is also important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and intend to give them a home for life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tidbit, a Flint HIll Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Flint HIll, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Flint HIll.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Flint HIll already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Flint HIll breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Flint HIll paves the way for another one to be saved.
