LEO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Leo      Breed:  Yellow lab mix

Approximate Age:  10-12 months     SEX:  male

Approximate Weight:  50 lbs lbs

Has Lived With:  dogs

Currently Living at:  an overcrowded rural shelter -- Leo needs a home ASAP!

Meet Leo!  The staff says that Leo is the nicest dog at the shelter!  Leo is around 10-12 months and is a super-handsome, friendly guy!  Although he was abandoned through no fault of his own, that doesn't seem to bother him and he has a lovely demeanor.  Leo is ready be your new best friend...he can't wait to get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who loves him!

Leo says...Hi there, everyone!  They call me Leo, and they say that I'm just the cutest, sweetest, most loving boy EVER!!  Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me??  I have a beautiful soft and kind of fluffy coat...people say I am very handsome!  My fur is super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-)  I weigh about 50 pounds, so not too big...perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!!  They say I am probably some sort of yellow lab mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!

Read below for more info on Leo, and email sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP if you're interested in him!

Leo says:  I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter.  It's dark and really loud in here and I keep waiting for a nice person to come get me.  But each time I see someone, they walk right by and I'm still by myself. :(   Luckily, the shelter staff say I am their FAVORITE, but they hope that someone will step up and adopt me very SOON so I can get out of here and to safety in a loving home!

Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the summer grass!?  And how I'd love to snuggle up by you after a long hike.  I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together.  I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!

Leo is an awesome dog and makes friends with everyone he meets!  At around 10-12 months old, he will need lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.

Leo's new person or family will need to make sure he gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills he has already!  And like all dogs we adopt out, he'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with his people, and help him become a well behaved companion or family member.  Leo seems to like all the people he meets, and can't wait to wiggle his way into your heart and home.

Like most dogs, Leo may need a refresher on his house training when he gets to a new home.  He will also need to go to obedience school so he can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
