Monique-ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
Monique is a 7 year old schnauzer/shih tzu mix. She weighs just over 20 lbs.
Monique still has plenty of energy but might prefer more mature canine companions at this stage in her life. She gets along with other dogs and cats but will let younger dogs know when she's had enough of them. Monique is crate and potty trained and so far not much of a barker. She has been friendly with every new person she has met and did great for the vet. We have not had her around any new children but she has lived with kids for most of her life. Monique likes to be next to you but not on you. She knows sit and lay down but still needs to work on not pulling on leash. Overall she is a great little dog who would do well in a variety of different homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monique-ADOPTION PENDING, a Manhattan Schnauzer (Standard)/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard)/Shih Tzu for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard)/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
