Beautiful Sophia has quite the personality. She loves to talk to you when she is excited (no apartments please) and loves to spin her great big bushy tail around like a helicopter. Sophia came to us from a home with other dogs where she was clearly the boss. She has what we call an 'enforcer/bouncer' personality: if she thinks other dogs playing/interacting are getting out of Hand she charges in to break it up. Sophia has done well with the cats in her foster home who don't run away and does very well with the other dogs who stay out of her food while she is eating. Sophia is currently on some meds to help prevent seizures but is otherwise very healthy (and very happy to visit the vet). What does Sophia describe as her perfect day? To lay in the exact middle of the kitchen for most of the day (especially while the humans are cooking), have her breakfast with some fruit mixed in, take a nap, go out to play in the yard, come in and nap on the couch (with or without a human underneath her), stand in the middle of the room and 'talk' to everyone until someone pays attention and scrubs her giant head eat dinner and go to bed. Do you have a big enough couch for this girl?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophia, a Chicopee St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Chicopee, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Chicopee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicopee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicopee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicopee paves the way for another one to be saved.
