My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COY is a 1-year-old neutered male yellow lab. Coy weighs 40 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Coy (who should be named Elvis because when he gets excited he lifts the left side of his mouth and smiles) is a approximately a one year old guy that is learning to trust people and let the real pup in him out. With doggie playmates and his loving foster home, he's starting to come out of his shell and learning to trust people. He loves to run around the yard with the other dogs and chase the ball - although he hasn't learned to bring it back yet. Coy can be shy and is timid and can get scared when sudden movements happen, although those times are becoming less and less. He needs a family that understands he will need some more time and patience until he fully understands that people aren't going to hurt him. He gets along with both male and female dogs and is good with the house cats (he tries to play with the nice cat and knows to leave the mean cat alone lol) Coy is starting to learn that being in the crate doesn't mean bad things will happen to him and is starting to go in with little effort from his foster mom. Coy is used to being with other dogs, even before coming to his foster home, so he needs to go to a house with another dog to continue with his confidence and help him grow. Coy is a fun loving, playful, sweet guy that's looking for his forever home. Coy is a great rider and does well on leash, but will require the use of a harness when walking due to his timid nature. He is crate and house trained. Good with dogs and cats.

Update: Coy is a sweet, petite guy approximately a year old. He loves to be near you to get belly rubs and give kisses. While Coy has been at his foster home he's learned being in the crate isn't a bad thing (goes in on his own now) and that humans aren't so bad after all. He is still a little hesitant around sudden moves and loud noises near him like clapping (he wasn't phased by the fireworks though) he is becoming more and more confident. He loves to be near you and give kisses. He gets along great with other dogs and leaves the house cats alone. He would probably do fine in a house by himself, but we think it would be best for him to go to a house with another dog to continue with his confidence.
