Mia's Story...
So, what's happening? Me and my 2 beautiful sisters are all looking for good homes. That means homes with lots of love and lots of fun and plenty of food and cozy places to sleep and cuddle. Our momma, Star, was a stray kitty turned into a rural shelter and then we all came to St. Francis Humane Association. We have had a great time in our foster home but we are ready to be permanent part of someone's family. I've been examined by a veterinarian, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, received my age appropriate vaccines and been spayed and microchipped.

If you are interested in finding out more about Mia or any of our other kitties, please contact St. Francis Humane Association at (804) 598-6636 or webmaster@stfrancisha.org. Check our website, www.stfrancisha.org, for our adoption event schedule!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
