We call this litter the "Cloud 9" Litter because there are nine puppies who are over the moon to be alive!! Their mom belonged to a family who had 10 adult dogs that roamed freely and just seemed to keep a steady stream of puppies reproducing. When everything was suddenly quiet for a few days, the woman who lived next door grew a bit concerned. She ventured over to find that the people had moved, all furnishings gone . . . and all 10 dogs locked inside the house, no food, no water. Horrified, she grabbed all 10 of them and brought them to her property. Among them was River, the sweetest, young momma dog who was just about ready to burst. When we learned of the pack, we tried to help by aiding in spaying/neutering the adults but River was too far along. Thank goodness a kind-hearted family stepped up and gave her a safe haven to have her babies and raise them in a very loving environment, and on May 12th nine healthy babies were born!!
Gus is the total HAM of the bunch. His motto is "All eyes on me!" He is super playful with everyone, extremely friendly and he's one of the biggest of the litter which he uses to his advantage when it's time for pets and cuddles (can you say "Attention Hog"??) But he's a guy's guy and the ladies love him -- a real character. His mom is a 50+ pound mostly-Lab girl who has
the sweetest disposition ever . . . which all of her babies seem to have inherited. She had a few "boyfriends" though so it's hard to tell what breed-mix the puppies are or how big they'll get (they're chunks now!!).
