Mr. Big's Story...
Mr. Big

Big heart, big love!

Well, whaddya know! One day I'm living the good life and the next thing I know, I'm dumped outside some store in a cardboard box. And then, whammo, I'm brought to some animal shelter called PAWS.

Why? Who knows? I'm probably the most friendly, gregarious, good natured cat in town! Maybe even in all of Connecticut! Could it be because I am FIV positive?

If that's the case, then my previous owners really don't know much about feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV is not a death sentence. In fact, because I am a healthy boy, I can live a long, lovely life.

For those not in the know, FIV is transmitted to other cats through mating and severe bite wounds. I'm already neutered and I am not a fighter. In fact, I could even live in a home with other cats. At the same time, I don't mind being the only cat at all!

I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Big, a Norwalk Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Norwalk, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Norwalk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norwalk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norwalk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Norwalk paves the way for another one to be saved.
