Petite and sweet, Irie is a 7 year old and 9lb Terrier mix with a tail that is always wagging. She will happily snuggle up on the couch or go for a walk. She is good in the car and great on a leash. Irie is a little shy around new dogs at first, but quickly falls in to play after the introductions have been made, and is currently in a foster home with small dogs her size. She can be intimidated by larger dogs. She could also be happy as an only dog. Like all dogs, Irie will thrive on a regular schedule of walks, love and attention. Irie is house trained if she gets outside frequently, and she does know how to use a pee pad. We don't know about about kids, but suspect she would be fine with older kids and a quiet household. She would love to have a fenced yard. She seems ok so far with the foster's super-dog-tolerant cat, but very likely would chase a skittish cat because it would be so much fun.
Irie is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccines, and just had a dental. Irie's adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. ♥
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
