Description: The foster who took me in named me after Athena, who was the patron goddess of heroic endeavor and Zeus’s favorite child. I think the name fits me well.
I was abandoned at PetSmart by my previous “family,” bone thin and injured with multiple bite wounds.. Fortunately for me the fosters at Saving One Life rescued me, got me the help I needed and a loving safe place to recover. I do not know why I was discarded, I love people, I am very affectionate, friendly, playful, I always use the litter box and scratching post and I have been told that I am beautiful. Although, I have to say, they gave me a terrible haircut to assess and treat where I was wounded, they say it will all grow back and I will be gorgeous again.
I do like to talk and have a low pitched voice, I also like to growl when I want more attention. My foster mom said that might confuse people as I am not at all mean or aggressive, it is just my way of communicating. My previous family also played with me with their hands a lot so my foster mom has been teaching me that hands are for love, not play. I have never bit or scratched hard but I was told I need to work on this too so I don’t scare anyone. That’s OK, I promise to do better and have found wand toys and laser lights are a lot more fun anyway.
Now I just have to wait for a person or family to value me as I should have been valued and give me a loving and safe home.
