My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy there folks!! My name is Sprocket and as you can see I am a beautiful Congo African Grey, if I do say so myself. My previous daddy owned me for about 6 years. I was only to be with him for a short time as he was helping a friend, but I ended up staying. Lucky him!!

I am approximately 7 or 8 years old, but hey, numbers don't mean anything. If I have the proper care, diet and lots of love, I can live to be 50!! That's right, Folks - 50!!

I love to talk, whistle, sing, make kissing noises and also imitate cooking sounds. I also say lots of words so be prepared for some lively conversations. I will let you know when I am tired by saying "time for bed". Oh and PLEASE cover my cage at night - hey, everyone needs some privacy.

I am scared of toys and perches. My foster mommy is working with me on this by placing a toy or a perch close to my cage for a week or more so that I can see it won't bite or hurt me. You will have to be really patient with me when adding new toys or perches to my cage.

I LOVE treats - I am not particular - I will try anything! My diet consists of Zupreem Pellets, chop, fruit and veggies. YUMMY YUMMY! I am a great eater and when I see my treats, my eyes look like they will pop out of my head. I LOVE grapes, watermelon, apples and almonds. Please do NOT give me peanuts as they are not safe for birds.

My foster family has dogs, cats and other birds, but that is ok as I do not seem to mind having them around. I really don't pay any attention to them, I know *I'm* the special one! My foster mommy does always watch me very closely if the dogs and cats are in the house as she wants to keep me safe. You will have to do this too if you have 4 legged fur-babies. No matter how well I seem to get along with your dog or cat, please remember that they are natural predators and I am their prey!!!

My foster mommy tells me that I have a very silly, goofy personality but that I am very well behaved. I love to follow my foster family around the house, watching them do the laundry, cooking (maybe I'll get a taste if it is safe for me) and watching TV.

I would love to find my forever family! I will need a home with people in it that have lotssssss of time to spend with me as I love love love lots and lots of attention! In return, I will be a wonderful companion who will keep the entire family entertained! So, when are you coming out to meet me? Soon, I hope. In the meantime, would you like to buy me a gift from my Amazon wish list? I would so appreciate it! Here is the link:

Hope you come to meet me soon! Thanks for stopping by and reading about me!
Love, Sprocket
