Karma's Story...
She was rescued from a kill shelter when 3 weeks pregnant. She has lived in her foster home for 4 months. Darling girl was part of a feral colony living outside (and partially inside) of a terminally ill man's condemned hoarder home. She was being removed from the home as it was in terrible condition and he wasn't fit to care for the strays. Many of her fellow colony cats were too feral to be rehomed, and were relocated to a safer spot instead. But she was different. She allowed people to hold her from day one. her foster mom got in the tub with her during her first flea bath to help make her more comfortable and was not scratched ONCE. But of course with her history, she wasn't the most trusting..she wouldn't even come downstairs for the first month she was there. But as time went on, and she was shown kindness, patience, and affection, she blossomed.

She has made incredible progress and now follows her foster mom from room to room, grooms the resident cat, took great care of her babies and purrs like an engine. She's a housecat through and through, and a SWEET one at that. She was the first foster to give birth at their house, and she's become their loving, most long term foster- which has been incredible and gut wrenching. To think of rehoming her breaks their hearts, but as they have a million fosters in and out of their home, they need to make sure they don't "foster fail" all of the ones that steal their hearts.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Karma, a Jacksonville Siamese cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siamese for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Siamese cat from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siamese breeders who help with Siamese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
