My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dido is a handsome, huge and snugly eight-year-old mackeral tabby cat waiting for the perfect home at the Save-A-Pet Adoption Center in Grayslake, Illinois Allergies of a newborn meant the end of life as Dido had always known it … or almost as he found his family when he was around 6 months old. He got along well with the other child, a 1 ½ year old toddler in the home as well as their big lab. When he was first returned to the shelter, everything seemed fine but he wasn’t especially thriving. After some tests, it was discovered that Dido was suffering from diabetes and the stress of being in a shelter made is somewhat difficult to try to regulate him at first. Thanks to the diligent care of Save A Pet’s Animal Health staff, working with vets, they manage to have him in complete remission and he is now out and about. He is a BIG guy, somewhat on the mellow side so moderate play sessions are what he is looking for. He is an affectionate guy that meows at times in order to get noticed and for attention. He loves relaxing in peoples’ laps and enjoys play sessions. This gentle guy just wants a nice lap to be able to unwind in every night! To meet and possibly adopt Dido please visit the Save-A-Pet adoption center in Grayslake at 31664 N. Fairfield Road. To expedite the adoption, you can fill out an adoption application on-line at http://www.save-a-pet-il.org so all the paperwork is done by the time you arrive. If you would like to ask any questions about him, please e-mail dido@save-a-pet-il.org or call SAP volunteer Buzz at 847-732-9360. You can also call the shelter directly at 847-740-7788. Dido is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, virus-tested and micro-chipped. His adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued dogs and cats of Save-A-Pet.
