My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ziggy is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with the stunning silver and black streaks that run through his soft coat. Once he gets a sudsy bath and his first haircut where you can see his very wise eyes...Ziggy will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 9 - 12 months old and about 30 lbs, Ziggy is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet smaller dog is welcome. He's also large enough to be a great hiker or power walker to enjoy the trails of Colorado with his favorite people.

Ziggy is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a happy and well-behaved pup who is definitely a great cuddlebug and very best friend.

At this early point in Ziggy's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching him to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Ziggy to get the gift of training and attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best dog he's capable of being (Farfel's is happy to supply a list of approved trainers in your area).

Right now, Ziggy is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Ziggy is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), couch-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Ziggy is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed.

Ziggy is up to date on his vetting, but has yet to be neutered. We're hoping that he will be fixed when he arrives from Texas, however most often, it's not possible to get an appointment prior to the transport leaving for Colorado. If this is the case, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ziggy to be neutered and micro chipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Ziggy appears to be a non-shedding..or lightly shedding guy with the cutest scruffy hair that speaks of the Terrier and Schnauzer breeds in his mix. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

Ziggy is arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 7/15/17. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
