Simon's Info...

Simon's Story...
This eight year old Maine Coon mix is a delight. He is cautious of strangers for about two seconds and then comes out to see who might like to hear his hearty purr.

He is a good boy about his brushing knowing it is yet another excuse to get more attention out of his people. Getting enough attention from his people is very important to Simon.

He is doing very well with his foster counter part and has lived with a dog.

He is up to date on his vaccines and has tested negative for FIV and leukemia.

If you are interested in learning more about this handsome guy, fill out our "I'm interested" form or phone our cat coordinator at 503-284-8768 evenings and weekends. ARCF’s mission is to rescue homeless animals so we do not take in owner released pets.

Please note, we adopt out to the following counties: Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington and Clark.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simon, a Portland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Portland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
