Sheebee is a special needs dog because of her extreme fear of everyone but her caretaker. Also she in not a puppy like in her pictures, she is now 8 years old. Sheebee and her 5 sisters and 1 brother were left....get this.... in a box in the middle of a highway. Are people just cruel or what??? A lady almost hit them and then brought them to the vet. They were going to the pound on Monday for certain death. We at Dogs Paws took them in and placed all of her siblings but her. Since 2009, Shebee is the only one left, all others were adopted. Shebee was the most shy, but she loves other dogs. Shebee needs a home badly with someone who will take the time and work with her. She absolutely needs a fenced yard with no holes that she can escape so she can get over her shyness. Do you have a place in your heart and home for her?

About Dogs Paws Until Adoption, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

I moved to the north Georgia mountains 18 years ago and while I love the mountains, I was sickened to see how many domestic animals are dumped in the mountains and left to fend for themselves. I started taking them in a few at a time, and spent thousands of $ I earned as a nurse. I soon became a non-profit licensed shelter. I work the shelter as a sole volunteer with an occasional hand from my children. To date, I have placed over 500 needy animals most of them large dogs. It is defeating at times as I seem to get 3 critters in for each one I place but I try to remember that as far as the overpopulation problem, I don't make much of a difference in the world, but to those I have taken care of, I have made a world of a difference. I do not get any public funding and we are always looking for food, medical, bedding, etc. donations. I do not euthanize an animal because their medical needs are too great, they're too old or too something else( people come up with some doosies). They only need a chance and they get it with me. If you have some extra funds to spare, we would appreciate it. I am a single working Mom with 3 kids and dozens of needy big lovable lugs that need their own family to care for and love them. Come and meet our crew.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are flexible for meeting our pets. We welcome you to our home where the animals are our personal pets and socialized until they become yours. Just give us a call. I also bring some of our pets to PETSMART to show and adopt them.

Our Adoption Process...

We do interview prospective adoptive families to be sure we have a match and to be sure our pets like you. Our fees are $150.00 for adoption which covers spay/neuter, all shots inc. rabies, wormer, and heart-worm test. These fees don't quite cover our costs(check it out with your vet) but it helps defray some of our costs so the next animal we take in can be taken care of medically. I will always take my own animals back, and we hold the checks for 10 days just to be sure it is a match.
