My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CASPER: 8 year old yellow male lab non-neutered 80 lbs
(GGLRR will work on his neuter)

This handsome boy is in need of a new home, due to his owner’s health problems they can longer take care of him in the way Casper deserves.

What his owner has to say about him:

Casper has lived with us for 5 ½ yrs. We were at the dog park, and his then family was looking for a home for him, they were moving out of state. He was such a friendly, mellow boy we just couldn’t leave him. He knows his commands, sit, stay, down, drop, and off and loves to play fetch. He does like to sneak up on the couch at night to sleep. He is great with other dogs, may whine when he sees them, he just wants to play. He lives with two labs now, plays with the neighbor's dogs whenever he can. Casper stays inside and outside during the day. He has been walked 2 miles a day on a daily basis; now he is getting very little, he gets a little excited and will pull on walks. Casper is housetrained, and crate trained. He is fine with cats; he is very interested in wildlife, especially birds, Casper had been trained as a hunting dog in his younger years. He is wonderful with children of all ages.

What his rep has to say about him:

Casper is an overall very nice boy. Still active loves to retrieve. He was happy to have the attention, took treats very nicely from me. He will pull a little when on a walk, with regular walks and a good leader he will do fine. He did see some neighbor dogs that he knows, whined a little to go and greet them.

Casper does have the beginning of some cloudiness in his eyes; owner stated that it does not slow him down. He does have a fatty lump on his left hind leg; Lab Rescue will be having it checked. He is not neutered yet; Lab Rescue will coordinate with his new family. Casper is up to date on his shots, micro chipped and Heart Worm negative.

Casper is located in Napa.

If you are looking for a very nice boy to be part of your pack, please email Rescue Rep Judy at judee.tay@gmail.com or call 707-480-8469.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
