Facts about zzKamie

  • Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 35033697
We rescued zzKamie because she was being abused by her prior owner. We took her in knowing we would own a home in a few months. Unfortunately the home fell through and we are still in an apartment and will be for a while. zzKamie is a 60 lb pit bull DOGO dog mix and it is unfair to her to be in an apartment, she needs a yard and other large dogs to play with. We truly don't wan't to re home her, but it is for her best interest. She is great with kids and even amazing with our three week old daughter. She needs other large dogs or dogs her speed to play with, our other two are older and don't have the energy to keep up with her any more, that or a home as a solo dog. We have also trained her to get along with cats. She is very loving and just has a big baby attitude. Her only down fall is she has some leash aggression which we have been working with.

Disclaimer: This dog is a participant in the Paws in the City Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by the foster, not by Paws in the City. To meet this dog, please fill out an adoption application at the Paws in the City website http://pawsinthecity.org/adopt.htm.

About Paws In The City

About Our Rescue Group...

Paws In The City® is committed to supporting the City of Dallas Animal Shelter by hosting off-site adoptions for the dogs and spay/neuter education and fundraising through specific outreach programs.

Paws In The City is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization committed to ending overpopulation, abuse and neglect of Dallas dogs and cats . We are an all volunteer organization with no paid staff.

Paws In The City is committed to the following goals:

 Rescuing homeless dogs and cats from the City of Dallas animal shelters by sponsoring off-site adoptions to find these abandoned animals terrific, loving homes…often many of these wonderful pets are days away from being euthanized simply because there are not enough homes... a tragedy we are determined to end;

 Providing a comforting and positive environment for adoptions;

 Providing medical care to neglected, abused, and injured animals through our outreach efforts;

 Educating the public on responsible pet ownership; and

 Supporting spay and neuter programs…the simple, common sense solution to ending the number of unwanted dogs and cats on our streets and in our city shelters.
