If you're searching for a devoted and loving best friend....Oakley is the pup you want to have around! Oakley, at just 18 - 24 months old and 25 lbs , is just naturally a lover ....when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. We've been told that Oakley is a very handsome Cairn Terrier mixed with a wise and loyal Border Terrier. Oakley has all the traits that make these two very smart and personality-plus breeds two of the most popular mixes around.
Oakley enjoys his time with his rescuer so much that he joins her just about everywhere she goes...it's important to Oakley to be a true best friend! He loves his people more than anything and would definitely win a lap-dog (or couch/bed hogger) award. Oakley is a sensitive guy and derives so much joy from his time spent with kind, dog-loving people.
Oakley is a young, healthy guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would also enjoy another kind and gentle dog to play with (although if his family is loving and present, Oakley would do fine alone as well). He would love nothing more than to lie in the sunshine (he loves his rescuer's back yard) enjoying a beautiful day with a canine or human friend. Oakley would have so much fun exploring and hiking along the Colorado trails. He is always open to new activities...just say the word and up he jumps for a car ride to a favorite trail or just a fun day enjoying his favorite people.

Oakley is a stunning Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix (or so we've been told) with a beautiful face and the prettiest eyes ever (his photos don't do him justice..he's gorgeous). He'd be a great addition to any family that loves dogs (he's so lovable) and has the desire to train and spend lots of time with a special pup.
Oakley is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! We would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling) or active retirees who have the time (maybe a positive reinforcement group obedience class?) and heart for a very special and loving dog. We'd hate to see Oakley left alone all day while his family works full-time...he's too sensitive for that. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere.
Farfel's Rescue would like to see Oakley in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A force-free group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy just learning about the world.
Oakley is up to date on his vetting, but has yet to be neutered. We're hoping that he will be fixed when he arrives from New Mexico, however most often, it's not possible to get an appointment prior to transport leaving for Colorado. If this is the case, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Oakley to be neutered and micro chipped at our vet in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
