Queenie is a special lady who loves to show affection to her humans. She has spent most of her life in the desert, and recently her human companion passed away. She is looking for a second chance at love and is looking to go on many more adventures. She is one smart cookie who would love to go to training, and catches on quickly. She knows how to sit and shake and is working on lay down. She is around 8 years old and is a large dog, about 50 pounds. Queenie loves to be with her humans and would love to go on walks and hikes. Queenie is great with other dogs, but would prefer no feline friends. Please consider fostering or adopting Queenie.

*Dogs are not placed on a first come first serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
