About Our Rescue Group...
Pickens Animal Rescue is in beautiful Talking Rock, Georgia -- about 1 hour north of Atlanta. We are a no-kill rescue group that takes in community stray cats and dogs from within our county and also pull from our local animal control shelter when space is available. The Rescue Ranch is our kennel/shelter/adoption facility where the dogs have indoor/outdoor kennels with 6 large exercise yards, whelping rooms, a separate isolation barn for new intakes and a "cathouse" where the cats live in colony housing, with enclosed outdoor exercise yard for our feline friends. We also have a large visitation room with toys and treats for potential adopters to visit with our animals. We are a 501c3 non-profit GA corporation. You won't find a nicer group to work with and to find a wonderful new family pet!
Come Meet Our Pets...
We do adoptions Tuesday through Friday between 12 and 4 by appointment only (call 706-692-2772 to schedule). We also do Open Adoption Days every Saturday, as well as off-site adoptions at the Petsmart on Highway 92 in Woodstock once a month (typically the 3rd Saturday).
Our Adoption Process...
The adoption fee is $100.00 for dogs and $75 for cats, (except those that qualify for our "porch pet program" where adoption fee is waived if they have been with us over one year). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption and are current on vaccines, worming and monthly preventative healthcare . All adult dogs are heartworm tested and all cats are tested for Felv/FIV. We have a 7 day return policy with reimbursement of your adoption fee. All dogs are microchipped prior to adoption (included in adoption fee) and cats can be chipped for $20 additional.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help
