Say hello to Lucille!
Our sunshine Lucille has made an amazing transformation and is thrilled with her new lease on life. Lucille wasn’t always all smiles. She was found in heart wrenching condition and that pretty spark in her eyes was nowhere to be seen.
Shortly after her rescue she went into an amazing foster home, where she truly blossomed. She now happily lives with 3 other furry foster siblings, who she initially loves to play with.
Her foster mom describes Lucille as an average energy level type of girl. She is a little shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly. Lucille has been exposed to various children at her foster home, except babies, but she has been very gentle with the little ones including elderly family members. Lucille has adjusted to living inside a home in no time. She is super smart and is already house and crate trained, knows sit, come, stay and leave it.
Here is what else her foster mom has to say about her:
“Lucy is a sweet little girl and very playful. She loves to be close to her humans but is not insistent on affection. If you start petting her, she moves her little head back and forth like Steve Wonder. So darn cute!
She has acclimated very well to our schedule. We wake up between 5:45-6:00 and she goes out for her potty break, then immediately makes a beeline right back to the house. The minute I let her in, she runs to her crate where she knows she gets a snack. She just loves her morning snack time.
Then we retire to my bedroom where all 4 dogs climb in my bed with me, while I drink my coffee and watch the news (wake up). At 7am, I start walking the dogs in rotation and Lucy and my two big dogs go outside for playtime, she loves it. They play chase, tug-o-war, wrestle, etc. When I return, I attempt to walk her but she is still very nervous about the leash. So for now we just work on getting her comfortable with the leash and collar.
She is very content hanging out with me in my home office while I work and then turns on her play time after work hours when the dogs are ready to play outside. Once they are done playing, she is perfectly fine chilling out with the pack, chewing on a bone or a toy or just lounging with the group.
She does well with my 3 very large dogs and my mom’s teacup Maltese. My mom uses a walker and Lucy is not afraid of it and knows to move out of the way when she is coming. Lucille can be fearful of loud noises and sudden moves but that too will subside as her comfort level rises.”
We think Lucille is a Golden Retriever mix, she was born around 11/12/2015 and is not even 2 years old yet. She is ready to have her very own forever family, one she can share all of her happiness with. Will it be you?
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75.
The adoption fee of $200 covers spay/neuter, vaccines and microchip.
