Oskar is a handsome approximately 8 year old neutered male grey and white tabby Domestic Shorthair cat.

Oskar's parents say 'Oskar was a lonely stray cat in the yard looking to be fed—food was offered, and gradually this pitiful feline to came closer to home. Oskar has beautiful markings and is a sensitive cat. He has been in house now since 2010; well-mannered and neat kitty. Problem with blockage of urinary tract 2 years ago. This was taken care of and now he is fed Royal Canin special food bought at vets to keep this from reoccurring. Oskar cannot get enough lap time; he is so special and needs to be in a caring protective home that is calm. Since we coaxed him inside in 2010, he has not been around dogs or children.' Oskar is only up for adoption now as his loving elderly parents are no longer able to care for him – They would never give him up otherwise, because he’s a true “keeper.”

Please consider adopting this wonderful, loving guy!  If interested, please contact Patty at the number above.

About Cat's Cradle of the Shenandoah Valley

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: www.catscradleva.org for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

Our Adoption Process...

Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.
