My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magnum could pretty much be the perfect fit for any home. He is a low-energy dog who loves his humans and wants to be next to them as much as he possibly can. Magnum is currently being fostered with three dogs and he's pretty indifferent to them all; he'll occasionally play a bit or join in greeting the passerby, but is more content laying around with a bone. He is being crated during the day, but that will likely end soon as he's proven himself nothing but trustworthy. Magnum truly is a precious, loving, smart and gentle boy!

Magnum was found wandering near a shelter and wanted in so he could get a cool drink and join the other dogs. Sadly it was a rural shelter that uses a gas chamber to euthanize in Southeastern Missouri. There is no adoption program there, his only way out was to be rescued. Magnum was rescued by Dolly's Legacy & provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure he is heartworm free. Home ownership & fenced-in yard preferred for Magnum so he has safe place to run & play.

Magnum is a Black Labrador Retriever, approximately 1-2 yrs old, weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Adoption fee is $250. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility.
