Are you attracted to the looks of a boxer, but interested in a dog who's a little more compact? We might just have the perfect match! Duke is an incredibly unique and handsome boxer mix trapped in the body of a Basset Hound. He is around 5 years young and is only knee high in height. He weighs right under 70 pounds and is a big boy in a small, but strong body. He is affectionate and loves to give and receive kisses and affection. He enjoys tummy rubs and head scratches, and really enjoys going on walks. While Duke loves spending time with his person, he does need to be the only pet in the home and would not be suited for dog parks. Duke would benefit from an experienced owner who can give him the structure and guidance he needs to thrive in a home. Duke also graduated from our BARK Behind Bars prison program, so he's crate trained, house broken, and already knows basic commands. Duke is approved for an adult only home. Please submit an adoption application online at www.barkva.org or contact us at adopt@barkva.org or call 804-449-BARK(2275) today.

About B.A.R.K. (Bandit's Adoption and Rescue of K-9's)

About Our Rescue Group...

Our MISSION

The primary focus at B.A.R.K. (Bandit's Adoption and Rescue of K-9's)is rescuing orphaned or abandoned pets and other adoptable dogs from local shelters and finding loving, forever homes for them.
B.A.R.K. covers healthcare costs for its orphans by using our Jessica Beath Clinic who provide routine vaccinations or booster shots, disease testing & treatment (heartworm, etc.), and spay/neuter services.
B.A.R.K volunteer foster's provide safe environments for rescued animals until they are adopted by loving individuals and families.
Our first priority is the care and safety of our orphans. We also do our best to be a resource for dog owners within the community and support others who are advocating for the welfare of dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

BARK has adoption events every Saturday at our Jessica Beath Clinic 12300 Farrington Road Ashland from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.

The 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, BARK also has an adoption event at Cosner's Corner Petsmart 9751 Jefferson Davis Highway Fredericksburg Va 22407 from 11:00 - 2:00 pm

Our Adoption Process...

The potential adopter completes an application. The application is reviewed within 3-5 business days. If the application is approved, arrangements are made for a visit between the dog, a BARK representative and the potential applicant. At that time, if a decision is made to adopt the dog, a BARK contract is completed and an adoption donation of $150.00 is accepted.
