Gracie's H.E.A.R.T. of Gold is a small volunteer-based rescue working diligently to adopt abandoned and abused pets into wonderful homes.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are an appointment only rescue. All of our pets are in foster homes and we attempt to meet in adopting families homes with the pets to determine if the best match.
We also attend as adoption events in Indianapolis and Marion.
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption donation averages $150-$250 for dogs and puppies. This is due to the rising costs of veterinary care, gasoline prices, and boarding fees which are paid for out of our own pockets. As we are not funded by anyone - adoption donations help to offset only a part of our cost of getting the dog ready for adoption. All dogs > 6months are vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, wormed and have a goody starter bag. Puppies < 6 months will have at least 2 puppy vaccinations, microchipped, wormed, and goody starter bag. If age appropriate, will potentially also be spayed/neutered and have rabies vaccination also. All animals are required to be returned to Gracie's HEART of Gold at any time if unable to care for or keep.
WE ALSO REQUIRE PROPER VETERINARY CARE FOR ALL ANIMALS ADOPTED TO INCLUDE HEARTWORM MEDICATIONS, FLEA MEDICATIONS, AND YEARLY VACCINATIONS.
WE REQUIRE A FACE-TO-FACE MEETING FOR ALL ADOPTIONS - WE DO NOT SHIP OUR ANIMALS. WE ALSO DO NOT ADOPT OUR ANIMALS AS GIFTS UNLESS WE MEET WITH THE RECIPIENT PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
