This sweet girl has been waiting far too long for a home of her own. Can you help make her dreams of a forever family come true? If you're looking for a companion who can keep up with your active lifestyle but still enjoy a lazy afternoon on the couch, then Kenya is your girl! Kenya is a beautiful, young, energetic female retriever/terrier mix. She is 3 years old and medium sized at around 50 pounds. She would do wonderfully in a home that can give her plenty of exercise, such as an owner who likes to jog or go hiking, and can involve her in lots of activities to keep her mind stimulated. She does very well with training since she is food motivated, attentive, and eager to please. Kenya requires either leash walking, which she does very well with, or a privacy fenced yard (no electric fences please). After proper introductions, Kenya also does well with most other dogs (no kitties please). She simply needs a canine companion that can match her rambunctious play style. Kenya graduated from the BARK Behind Bars prison obedience training program, which means her adopter will get a dog who is crate trained and already knows basic commands. If you would like to meet Kenya, please submit an adoption application online at www.barkva.org or contact us at adopt@barkva.org.

About B.A.R.K. (Bandit's Adoption and Rescue of K-9's)

About Our Rescue Group...

Our MISSION

The primary focus at B.A.R.K. (Bandit's Adoption and Rescue of K-9's)is rescuing orphaned or abandoned pets and other adoptable dogs from local shelters and finding loving, forever homes for them.
B.A.R.K. covers healthcare costs for its orphans by using our Jessica Beath Clinic who provide routine vaccinations or booster shots, disease testing & treatment (heartworm, etc.), and spay/neuter services.
B.A.R.K volunteer foster's provide safe environments for rescued animals until they are adopted by loving individuals and families.
Our first priority is the care and safety of our orphans. We also do our best to be a resource for dog owners within the community and support others who are advocating for the welfare of dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

BARK has adoption events every Saturday at our Jessica Beath Clinic 12300 Farrington Road Ashland from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.

The 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, BARK also has an adoption event at Cosner's Corner Petsmart 9751 Jefferson Davis Highway Fredericksburg Va 22407 from 11:00 - 2:00 pm

Our Adoption Process...

The potential adopter completes an application. The application is reviewed within 3-5 business days. If the application is approved, arrangements are made for a visit between the dog, a BARK representative and the potential applicant. At that time, if a decision is made to adopt the dog, a BARK contract is completed and an adoption donation of $150.00 is accepted.
