**VIRGIL IS CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED IN THE DES MOINES, IA METRO**It's been a little bit of a roller coaster these past few months for me. See I had a loving family that due to their own personal health concerns with my little human brother and human Mom. My mom was absolutely devastated, and I know she will always love me, and she did the right thing by helping me get into the care of the HHBR Crew. I have to say it's been FUN here! My foster home has two other dogs and I was excited to get to know them! My foster family has quickly discovered that this hound, well I like to tell you what I think, a LOT!! I mean who doesn't want to hear by glorious barking and me singing the song of my people multiple times a day! My foster mom says not all the neighbors understand the song of my people so we've been working on "inside voice" levels! I have to say you are all party poopers!!! I am totally reliable when left alone while you humans work, and my foster parents quickly learned I do not appreciate crating...I mean how undignified to think I would need to go into one of those! Even though I am a middle aged man I truly adore my toys! I actually have quite a collection of them, but there's one bear that was my first Mom's when she was a child and I attached myself to the bear and I now carrying him everywhere with me. I am of course completely house trained! My health is great, I got checked over by the vets and got my teeth cleaned! The one thing I must say if that I have very sensitive skin and allergies. I do require a high quality grain free food and treats that are also grain free. And I also take a medication called Apoquel to help the itchies. This medication is a once a day tablet and is approx. $35-$45/month and it absolutely helps keep my skin healthy. I am current on all vaccinations, Heartworm negative, = on monthly preventative, de-flead, de-wormed, dental, bloodwork, altered and microchipped. For more information on Virgil please contact HHBR at adoptions@houndshavenbassetrescue.com VIRGIL'S ADOPTION FEE IS $225.00Adoption Information:Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed,microchipped in addition to being spayed/neutered. We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.FOR AN APPLICATION PLEASE VISIT WWW.HOUNDSHAVENBASSETRESCUE.COM/HTML **The age of many HHBR dogs is unknown, as very few come with official records. The estimate on the dog's age is usually the initial estimate given by the receiving shelter, which may be different from that given at the time of the initial checkup. Different veterinarians may also give different ages, and those different opinions are sometimes reflected on the record. ***HHBR's adoption fees are determined based on age of the dog. Individual adoption fees are shown with each dog's listing.
