From the Foster:
Oreo (or Reo, as we call her!) is literally a sweetie!
She is super cute. She is black and white, with deep dark eyes, a mile wide smile, a huge under-bite and Yoda like ears (her right ear goes up and her left ear goes sideways). Her ears are very expressive and move all over the place. Her pictures online do not do her justice.
She loves, loves, loves her people. She wants to be right next to you. I think she would go into your pocket, if you would let her. She will follow you around the house all day long. Because of that, her forever family should expect to allow her through out their home. She would not be happy if isolated in part of the house. Everyone met on a walk is a new friend. We have seen no protective tendencies from her.
Also, she likes her comfy spots. That includes chairs, beds, blankets and couches. We do NOT let her sleep in our bed, but she curls up right next to the bed on a dog bed and sleeps all night. She loves other dogs!! She greets them well and wants to play. She is very respectful of our 2 dogs. Cats are unknown.
She is super gentle with her treats and carefully takes them from your hand. She waits her turn to be fed. She is never mouthy. She is quiet in her crate (we have left her up to 4 hours.) I have never heard her bark. We have a doxie and he barks at everything. She looks at him like he is crazy. She loves attention. She will roll over on her back and soak up belly rubs all day long. We take her on 2-3 walks a day. That seems to be enough for her. She is not very high energy for a youngster. But, she does enjoy playing with dog friends (and every dog has been a dog friend).
She needs minimal work with potty training. She is trained on a schedule, but doesn't "ask" to go outside. She loves, but is tough on toys. She chews them up. We have given her ropes and heavy duty chew toys. They seem to last. Stuffed toys only last about 5 minutes. And if you have the rope in your hand, she can be a little crazy grabbing it. She needs to learn that your hand is in there somewhere! Besides that, her mouth has never touched any part of us. She knows what toys are and more importantly what aren't toys. She has not grabbed a shoe, sock or pillow to chew on.
She loves her people, but I think little ones could be bowled over by her happiness. She has about a 5ft vertical jump. She is quickly learning not to jump on us or the counters.
She must have been someone's pet at sometime. She knows "sit", "come" and "no". She walks well on a leash.
Oreo will be a delightful addition to someone's family!
