Facts about Dan

  • Breed: Siberian Husky
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Dan is an energetic dog looking for a forever family to love. Dan is about as "typical" a husky as you can get! He has lots of energetic, and an independent streak - but don't let that distract you from his friendly, good natured personality! Dan loves to be around people, which makes the fact that he was left outside for most of his life even sadder.

Dan would love a family that can remind him about how to walk well on a leash as well as work with him to learn other basic obedience (he has quickly learned "sit" and "down"). Dan is doing well with his crate training, but would rather be out exploring the world: going on runs, hikes, or possibly even join a recreational sled dog team or play at bike joring!

Dan is goofy, fun loving and always ready for a good time! If you think Dan would be the furry friend to complete your family, e-mail us at arsw@arcticrescue.com!

About Arctic Rescue Southwest

About Our Rescue Group...

Arctic Rescue Southwest (ARSW) was launched with the goal of providing much needed support to the arctic breed community outside of Arctic Rescue's typical reach.

Arctic Rescue, based in Utah, frequently fields requests from southern NM, AZ and TX to take huskies, malamutes and various mixes in need. Verifying the medical needs of these dogs, and arranging transportation up to Utah can be difficult. Having an organization in place to foster and vet these dogs allows us to successfully place more into suitable homes.

ARSW focuses primarily on pulling dogs from kill shelters, and educating owners to help dogs stay in homes. We can provide training and advice on dealing with numerous behavioral problems. Our goals are to find our dogs suitable forever homes, and minimize the number of dogs that end up in shelters.

If you have any questions, or are interested in adopting a dog, please contact us at ARSW@arcticrescue.com

Come Meet Our Pets...

You may meet pets any day of the week but must make an appointment to do so, as all of our dogs are housed in foster homes.

Available times are Monday-Friday 5:00-7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm.

All dogs are fostered in Alamogordo NM.
