Lucas was rescued from a backyard on Mexico where he was abused from the time he was a puppy by being chained 24/7 in the yard and beaten with a stick o make him a better watch dog. When the rescuer first got him and brought him to me I was nervous. But within about 5 minutes he realized he was in a safe loving place. Lucas has made tremendous strides learning to trust and be cared for. He is still in need of some training and is a strong dog who needs strong leadership. In Mexico he actually makes a great watchdog because he is large and can look scary but it's not the life we want for him. He would be better in a large space. If you think you can give this great guy a good forever home please contact me. He has learned to get along with my other dogs but I'm going to mark it a NO for now due to his guard dog training. There were some scuffles that occurred (in Mexico) after he was first rescued and being acclimated to being around the other other rescue dogs there.
