Facts about Lucas

  • Breed: Belgian Shepherd Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
**THIS DOG IS NOT YET LOCATED IN SEATTLE, BUT CAN BE TRANSPORTED WHEN SUCCESSFUL ADOPTION COMPLETE**

Lucas was rescued from a backyard on Mexico where he was abused from the time he was a puppy by being chained 24/7 in the yard and beaten with a stick o make him a better watch dog. When the rescuer first got him and brought him to me I was nervous. But within about 5 minutes he realized he was in a safe loving place. Lucas has made tremendous strides learning to trust and be cared for. He is still in need of some training and is a strong dog who needs strong leadership. In Mexico he actually makes a great watchdog because he is large and can look scary but it's not the life we want for him. He would be better in a large space. If you think you can give this great guy a good forever home please contact me. He has learned to get along with my other dogs but I'm going to mark it a NO for now due to his guard dog training. There were some scuffles that occurred (in Mexico) after he was first rescued and being acclimated to being around the other other rescue dogs there.

About Tragic To Magic - The Barking Lounge

About Our Rescue Group...

Tragic to Magic:
We are a small group of people that live just South of the border in Mexico and help the homeless sick street dogs. We take them to our homes and isolate, follow up with vet visits, check for disease and treat them, vaccinate them, spay or neuter them and show them love.
We started the foundation to provide homes, care, education, and advocacy for countless animals that are neglected, abused, malnourished, and unwanted.

The Barking Lounge:
Voted Seattle’s Best Dog Daycare & Boarding Facility, a portion of all of our proceeds goes to support our Foster & Adoption Program. It is our absolute love of pooches that has driven our partnership with Tragic to Magic. Our role is to provide love, care, food, shelter, and lots of playtime for these amazing dogs that have been rescued by Tragic to Magic, with the ultimate goal of finding their perfect forever homes in and around Seattle. We have proudly been serving the South Lake Union neighborhood of Downtown Seattle since 2004.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Typically the dogs listed here have already been had their medical & behavioral clearances and have been transported from Mexico to Seattle and are staying as foster dogs at The Barking Lounge. Occasionally we will post dogs that are in Mexico and that are still preparing for the transport to Seattle.

It may take us a few days to respond to inquiries, particularly if a dog already has an adopter's application being processed. For the most up to date information around the status of a particular please see our Facebook Note devoted to our foster pooches at tiny.cc/adoptions

Our Adoption Process...

For dogs that are already in foster care at The Barking Lounge:

1) An in office Meet & Greet is scheduled at The Barking Lounge (leave any other pets at home).

2) Fill out an adoption application, including references.

3) Schedule at home visit. A Tragic to Magic representative will come to your home at that time to make sure it's a safe environment for the dog and help facilitate introduction to any other pets at home.

4) If the home visit is successful, there is an opportunity to adopt. The adoption contract is signed (must be fully filled out and the terms and conditions of the adoption must be agreed to) and the adoption fee is paid.

Note: Please see the individual pet profile for their corresponding adoption fee. These may be negotiable for the right home, but are generally around $400.
